About this place
Excavator Owners Forum started in September 2025 because the big general equipment boards had gotten so wide you could not find the trackhoe guys in them anymore. This one is only excavators. Mini ex on a landscape trailer, 20 ton on a lowboy, 50 ton on a pipeline spread, all of it, but nothing else.
It is run by Jon H., a retired pipeline excavator operator out of Fargo, North Dakota, who goes by j_halvorsen on the boards. He answers the contact address himself and he is slow about it in the fall because he still runs a machine for a friend's outfit during tiling season.
How it is paid for
House rules
- Be useful. Post the hour meter, the model, the part number, the price. Vague questions get vague answers.
- Say what you paid. Auction and dealer reports without numbers get a mod note asking for them.
- No selling in threads. There is no classifieds board on purpose. Link a public listing if it helps a discussion, that is it.
- No dealer or auction employees posting as customers. If you work for one, say so in your signature.
- Mods can move, merge or lock threads. They will say why.
- Registration is by request while we keep the spam bots out. Ask through the contact page.
What we are not
Not a dealer, not an auction, not a parts store, and not a substitute for the service manual. When someone here tells you a number, check it against the book for your serial range before you spend money.
